We were very happy to return to the beautiful All Saints’ Church in Cottenham for our Summer Concert on 13th July 2019. Our concert began with the English Folk Songs Suite by Vaughan Williams, arranged by Gordon Jacob. A highlight was the first performance of an arrangement of Dvořák’s Five Moravian Duets by our Music Director, Evan Turner, featuring soloists Annette Nelson (Violin) and Jenny Nichols (Oboe), accompanied by the Orchestra. Butterworth’s Banks of Green Willow, and Schubert’s Symphony No. 4 “The Tragic”, completed our programme.
More information can be found in the programme notes. Entry was free, with a retiring collection for church funds, to go towards maintenance of the church buildings.
